Drive Thru Prayer "Home Opener" 5/2/26
May 12, 2026
We had a crisp, breezy and sunny day for our first Drive Thru Prayer of the year. We had four evangelists today: Phil, Rich, Sharon and Suzanne.
We never know if we will have only car come or several. Today we probably broke a record and spoke to at least 15 people who had prayer requests.
Our first vehicle drove up wondering what Drive Thru Prayer is and wanted blessing on their day.
We spoke to a couple who want to marry, but are having difficulty obtaining a marriage license to due problems with a birth certificate.
Several people requested prayers for their children for a variety of issues.
A college student asked for prayers regarding her life decisions and the friction she is having with her parents.
We prayed for the upcoming surgery of the brother-in-law of a woman who came.
Perhaps our most interesting encounter was with a former Catholic. He and his girlfriend are moving and requested prayers blending their families. He has a faith life, but if Sharon remembers correctly he pulls it from a variety of sources including Buddhism. He has many disagreements with Catholic beliefs, including that our parish sets up a display of pink and blue lawn flags to represent children lost to abortion. Suzanne handled the situation well and had a very respectful discussion with him. We parted very amicably after praying with him and offering him a medal which he accepted.
