Lake Erie Island Put-In-Bay outing
August 12, 2025
Our fourth outing for the year was on South Bass Island at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic church Put-in-Bay, OH. Team leader Pete gave a brief introduction during July 13, 2025 mass announcements about SPSE and invited all attendees to join us outside for prayer and to find out more. We had many visitors from mass as well as passersby at this very active resort community. Many prayers were offered, information and sacramentals shared and many seeds were sown.
Introducing to all Masses at one of our local parishes
July 8, 2025
Saturday June 14th and 15th our entire Erie Shores and Islands SPSE team met, prayed with, and distributed materials to St. Joseph Marblehead parishioners and visitors after all masses following an outstanding welcoming pulpit talk by our team leader Peter Rimoldi. We had an tremendous response and were crowded with inquiries from those attending mass.
Marblehead and Port Clinton are tourist areas where summer visitors double year-round residents attending mass so this was a great opportunity to introduce SPSE not only to one of our local parishes but to visitors from greater Cleveland, Toledo and Detroit that have vacation homes or rent in our communities.
On July 13 we will be speaking at and meeting with visitors to Lake Erie's South Bass Island community of Put-in-Bay outside of the Mother of Sorrows Catholic church.
Praise God for lighting up our visitors and parishioners with the Holy Spirit and giving us the words to spread the Good News!
Recent event at St. Joseph Marblehead Fish Fry
May 19, 2025
Our first event in 2025 was a Lenten fish fry at St. Joseph Parish Marblehead. It was a good trial run for high traffic venues coming up this summer at Put-in-Bay, OH and the Perch, Peach, Perogi and Polka 3 days festival in Port Clinton, OH Labor Day weekend.
Captain Pete Rimoldi designed and built two rotating triangular pegboard displays (shown here); one for medals and holy cards and one for rosaries. We have a 3'x3' , 6'x 2' and 8' x 2' configuration with or without a canopy depending on the space available. All our members recently attended the Evangelist training in Milan, OH.
Erie Shores & Islands Team's First Event a big success
September 4, 2024
Our first event over Labor day weekend 2024 in Port Clinton, OH was a big success. We have been shadowing and evangelizing with other area teams who have been great mentors for our brand new team. Most of our members were able to make this first event and we filled in the slots with volunteers from teams in Vermillion, Norwalk, Monroeville and other surrounding communities. We received over 88 prayer requests most of whom we prayed with immediately. WE distributed about 40 Miraculous Medals, about 25 rosaries, a dozen small and medium crosses and multiple St. Benedict, St. Christopher and St. Joe medals, many St. Thomas prayer cards as there were many students at the Perch, Peach Pierogi & Polka festival. Also we learned where we need to enhance our inventory and most importantly how to let the Holy Spirit guide us.
Events where we have Evangelized

As evidenced on our home page, we have attended several events being mentored by other area teams whom we met through KOC or pro=life ministries where we also participate. Anne Cook, Pete and Jill Rimoldi, Bill and Lori Scheible, Jim Emmert have all participated in these events.sus, Peru; Erie County Fair, Huron County Fair, and the Vermillion, OH Fish Festival. Our first Erie Shores & Islands Team-sponsored Event is this weekend on Labor day Friday-Sunday at the KOC sponsored 4P's festival (see our event page).
