It is always a special treat when the clergy get involved with SPSE. Here Fr. Simon Lobo, a religious priest of the Companions of the Cross, speaks with three protestant women who had many misconceptions about what the Church believes and why she believes it. This conversation lasted about an hour and a half and many doctrines were addressed such as Mary’s sinlessness, the primacy of Peter and the infallibility of the Pope, the intercession of the saints, and more. The group was very impressed that Catholics actually have logical and scripturally sound arguments for all of these beliefs. In the end, we were able to plant many seeds that the Lord can make grow at a future date. Pray for these women on their journey into eternity.
Thanks for feeding His sheep! Keep up the work of The Lord with joy and perseverance!
Welcome, Fr. Simon. You tackled our most difficult challenge. Christians that have been misled to think that documents in the Bible are the only revelation from God that we have received, and second that the Catholics have misinterpreted the information that we do have about our Lord. They readily accept the fallacy that Catholics worship Mary without any supporting proof, but look at us as if we are trying to mislead them if we show them Rev. 12:17 in the Bible, that they claim to base their faith in the Lord upon, that Mary is not only Jesus’ mother, but our’s as well.
I hate to be so blunt, but we are up against people who exhibit every sign of being brain washed. All we can do is try to show them the truth, and pray for them. We should be encouraged by the knowledge that the Lord sent them to us to witness to the truth about Him and His Church. And if He guided them to us, he has nothing but good planned for their future.
God be with us all as we praise Him for allowing us to be in this ministry, and spread His love to His children.
