Douglas, AZ. – Ed and Frances went to evangelize at the Cochise County Fair in Douglas on a recent Saturday. They set up at the Knights of Columbus pro-life booth. In the picture, Frances is teaching a number of young Hispanics how to pray the Rosary. Ed was meanwhile giving to a Baptist family the pamphlet “Common Objections” and the CD of Dr. Scott Hahn’s conversion.
The Baptists did not know much about the Catholic Church, so Ed explained how Jesus lived for 33 years, and the last three years he proclaimed the Gospel. After His resurrection, He told his Apostles to spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth, which they did. But, Ed told them, not everything Jesus did was found in the Bible, because the Bible says so in John 21:25: “There are also many other things that Jesus did, but if these were to be described individually, I do not think the whole world would contain the books that would be written.” They agreed with Ed. Ed told them that the Apostles had people who followed them and learned from them, and that you can read some of what they wrote today. Clement of Rome and Ignatius of Antioch are two of these, and are called “Apostolic Fathers.” What you find in their writings is the sacraments, the Bishops, infant baptism, the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, and other Catholic doctrines. The Bishop of Rome has special authority. All these things have caused thousands of Protestant ministers to become Catholic, including Dr. Scott Hahn. They handed out over 50 Rosaries, 75 Miraculous Medals, about 100 million dollars with Pope Francis on it, and many CD’s and Pamphlets. A great day.
