San Francisco, CA. Saint Paul Street Evangelization does not require that its evangelists use its materials (medals, holy cards, pamphlets, etc.). We simply provide these materials as low-priced as we can. A few of our teams get some resources from other sources, and some teams produce resources of their own, especially for local information like Church addresses, Mass and Confession times.
Stephen, a member of the San Francisco chapter, for example, has produced some holy cards of his own – a red card with a crucifix and the words “God Loves You” on one side and the salvation message written on the back, and a grey card with information about Our Lady and prayers seeking her intercession. Stephen and Charlene passed them out on a recent outing, and they were “well received.”
Going to Mass beforehand, Stephen and Charlene encountered a lot of homeless on their recent outings. This is eminently appropriate, as the dismissal at the end of Mass call us to go and live what we has been communicated to us in the Word of God and the Sacrament of the Eucharist. The dismissal is often “Go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life,” or “Go, and announce the Gospel of the Lord.” And the homeless, as are all the poor, are some of the people most beloved by Our Lord, and to whom he especially sends us. Thank you, Stephen and Charlene, and all the San Francisco team!
Praised be the Lord Jesus Christ! Does street evangelization sound like an apostolate you could be called to embrace? We think it’s likely. Come to our website and learn about the training and resources we have to offer!
