Dallas, TX. “Have no fear … nor be troubled, but in your hearts reverence Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence; and keep your conscience clear, so that, when you are abused, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.” 1 Peter 3:14-16

There are many skills, virtues, and characteristics that are necessary, or at least useful, for SPSE evangelists to cultivate. The above quote from the first letter of Saint Peter gives us several of them. Courage, reverence for Christ, preparation, gentleness, reverence for others, and a clear conscience, make the evangelist more effective and more conformed to Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Gene, from the Dallas team, strives to grow in these skills, virtues, and characteristics. In an outing not too long ago, Gene talked at some length with this Church of Christ member about various subjects including Grace, mortal and venial sin, and the need for the one Church to be truly one, as Our Lord Jesus prayed it would in the upper room before he was arrested. Thank you, Gene, for your faith and dedication!
