Kennesaw, GA. Clarence, the leader of the Smyrna, Georgia team, is one of our most enthusiastic and committed evangelists. It looks like a few more teams in the Atlanta chapter are in the making, because Clarence recently invited potential new team leaders from three other area parishes to join him. They set up at Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Park. Please keep them in your prayers. Here’s a report from a prospective team leader, John, who joined Clarence that day. John is from Woodstock, GA.
“I would like to thank Clarence for being an inspiration in our Catholic faith; my heart fills with the joy given by Christ Jesus when I meet a soul gifted with the Holy Spirit. You have inspired me, Clarence. … When I first learned of St. Paul Street Evangelization, there was a pull to follow the Spirit to the streets; I was unsure and nervous that I would not cut it out in the trenches. I decided to take the plunge and join you this past Saturday, honestly one of the best decisions I have ever made.”
“The best part of my experience was relating the truth and beauty of our Catholic faith to perfect strangers. Many were interested, even perplexed, at the idea of a faith that is grounded in Christ Jesus, and founded by him over 2000 years ago. My fears of people rejecting the Catholic faith and even becoming hostile were alleviated early on: My first two encounters were filled with easy conversation related to the Holy Rosary (we were covered with the veil of our Holy Mother Mary). The rest of the day was awesome, with conversations about the Catechism of the Catholic Church, RCIA, the Liturgy, the Holy Mass, the Sacraments and my favorite, the real presence of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. I’m afraid I had too much fun; we had evangelists from four different parishes and covered two languages. With Clarence there to guide us and the Holy Spirit let loose on the streets, Kennesaw will never be the same. I think I finally understand what Jesus meant when he told the Apostles they would be ‘fishers of men.’ I am hooked by this ministry.”
“I look forward to many more valuable days such as this one. I am constantly telling my students to walk the earth as a citizen of heaven. St. Paul Street Evangelization is truly the walk of a heavenly citizen. I recommend this spiritual medicine to all baptized Catholics; let us set the world on blazing-fire.”
Praised be Jesus Christ! Thank you, John and Clarence! Please keep up your efforts, and do not be afraid to take new steps forward in your commitment to serve the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Faith passed on from generation to generation in the Church!
Its agreat idea sharing your involving those from other parishes forming a team ministry. Id very much like it too. How do you do it?
