The following story comes to us from evangelist Michael with our team in Warren, MI:
Adam and I went down to Wayne State University in Detroit this afternoon to join the seminarians from Sacred Heart who were sharing the Gospel with students there. The seminarians took a class with Adam recently, teaching them the basics of evangelization, and this was an opportunity to put what they learned into practice. Along with the seminarians, Fr. Matt (Chaplain of Detroit Catholic Campus Ministry) and Anna (Outreach Coordinator for Detroit Catholic Campus Ministry) joined in too. After we all congregated, we split up, with half of the seminarians going outside to evangelize, and the other half staying at the table inside the Student Center (which is where I stayed).
After about a half hour of very little interaction, a young woman walked up to the table to look at some of our pamphlets, medals, etc. Anna asked “Naomi” about herself, and she shared that she was formerly Muslim, but had converted to Christianity. When Anna asked what caused her conversion, she mentioned the practice of polygamy in Islam being one driving factor. She said it seemed unjust. Anna agreed, and then informed Naomi about several events coming up including a Bible study, asking if she’d like to attend any. Naomi replied that she’d like to attend the Bible study, but her car had just broken down, and she’d have a hard time getting there. Anna said she’d investigate finding a ride for her. I believe they exchanged information, and then Naomi departed. May God continue to guide her home to the one true faith.
Praised be Jesus Christ!
