The following story comes to us from team leader Joseph with our new St. Peter the Apostle team in Trinity, FL:
We are a new, very small SPSE team, and we recently went out for our first few outings. And while we are learning as we go, we didn’t let that stop us from hitting the ground running! We started in our church driveway during our annual neighborhood community yard sale. We were excited to pray over four souls and introduce our church to a few of them!
Our second adventure was at a local outdoor market. After arriving, we noticed there weren’t many shoppers, so we decided to walk the trail (it was a beautiful day!) After getting zero response, we stepped up our game and boldly said hello and asked the other walkers if they would like to be prayed over. We wound up praying over four people! One had just arrived in Florida from way up north, and was thrilled to start his stay with a prayer to God! Another was given a rosary for himself and his wife.
Our next stop was our local grocery store. They gave us space on the sidewalk outside the exit door. People were hesitant at first, but then started to engage in conversation and allowed us to pray with them. We prayed over Allen for a new job and for his son on his birthday. We also prayed for Mary’s mother in law, who is 95 years old, for her health. Next we prayed for Jennifer, who hasn’t been to church in a long time but really wanted her babies baptized…we invited her to our church and are still praying she comes! We met Josh, who was looking for a church family. Please pray that he comes to our parish (St. Peter), especially for Easter. We gave him a Rosary and a how to pray the Rosary leaflet. We prayed for a woman’s husband who got into a car accident that morning and for her grandson’ surgery the following Monday. We prayed for a young woman who was studying children’s ministry in college, and attended Grace Church. She was a lovely person, and truly blessed with a calling. This was also our prayer warrior’s first time out in public, and she was amazing!
Praised be Jesus Christ!
