The following report comes to us from team leader Peter with our team in Sebastian, FL:
While evangelizing at the St. Luke Craft Fair & Flea Market, we met Kim, who had a rather extraordinary story. After showing her how to pray the rosary, she told us of her Polish grandma who survived the holocaust, and also her lost Bible’s odyssey. As a teen, she left it at a friend’s house who moved away a month later. After some years, a woman found it in a flea market well used with many highlights and Kim’s full name in it. After many years of trying to find her, she found her two years ago and mailed it to her. Kim knows she was meant to have it, and is now highlighting it up in another color.
Next, we met Helena. She was Catholic when she was younger and was very interested in our literature, but was perplexed and confused by it all. After learning more about her, we encouraged her to take an easy to read Good News New Testament. We explained how it’s organized, how to find topics, and pointed out all the helpful aids in the back
Sue preferred to raise and release butterflies over any religion. She claimed to have belief in God, but equated Christianity’s God and Allah. She also complained about church wealth and trivial administrative church issues. She seemed proud of being so open-minded about who God is in a general sense, but at the same time was rather close-minded about learning anything beyond that.
Alice and Randy grieved over their daughter and son-in-law both leaving Catholicism and Christianity in college, and how they now have an unbaptized toddler. We talked about parents’ responsibility for their children’s souls, and they took brochures on Baptism and Reasons to Return to the Catholic Church.
Louise and Rick said they would like to evangelize with us at the library in the near future.
Praised be Jesus Christ!
