The following is a continuation of yesterday’s story and comes to us from team leader Lucy with our team in Boise, ID:
A man stopped to complain about the national government, citing grievances allegedly committed against “his people” 200 years ago. We encouraged him to pray.
An ex-Catholic who has stopped a few times over the years to argue with us because he is contemptuous of the Rosary in particular and the Catholic Church in general wanted, this time, to argue about politics and current events. We refused to engage and explained that our focus for the short time we were set up was to encourage people to pray and seek God, But he waved us off saying politics was more important to him than religion. Pray that his heart will be softened and he will prioritize a relationship with God, the only One Who can save him.
A young man on an electric scooter paused to take a Rosary declaring himself to be Christian. He was interested in the Christ-focus of the Rosary, but mostly wanted to lament the state of the world and Boise. He blamed cell phones for most of the world’s troubles and seemed pessimistic that anything could help. The evangelist encouraged him to keep his eyes on Jesus Christ and to double-down on his prayer life, praying to God for both friends and enemies. He agreed he should, but seemed unconvinced of the power of prayer. Pray that he will let the grace of God fill him with faith and hope and love.
Altogether, we gave away 15-20 Rosaries and its pamphlet, as well as a Good News/kerygma pamphlet and a map to area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.
Catholics as well as other Christians draw hope from seeing the Crucifix displayed in public. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
