This report comes from team leader Janet in Galveston, Texas:

We set out to evangelize at the Pasadena Indoor Flea Market and had many wonderful encounters. I was thankful that Sebastian showed up to evangelize with us because he is fluent in Spanish and it is very helpful to have someone there who speaks Spanish. We prayed for the needs of the people who requested prayers including prayers of healing and peace in the world. We passed out rosaries, Miraculous Medals and encouraged fallen-away Catholics to get back to Mass, Confession and also to baptize their children and shared with the parents why that is so important.

The most meaningful encounter for me was when a middle-aged man, who had been watching us for awhile, walked by and so I started a conversation with him. He said that he was raised Catholic but later became a drug addict and then experienced a conversion, started studying the Bible and was now a pastor with his own church. He went on to say that we don’t need a confessor but only need to go straight to Jesus, we don’t need Tradition, etc… all the same things we hear from Protestants. Ironically earlier that morning I told the evangelists that I had purchased a brochure that I was holding to give to just the right person. As this man talked about the Bible and his beliefs, I felt that nudge by the Holy Spirit to give the brochure to this man. So, I told him that I would like to give him something to read about the Mass. He accepted it and said that he would read it and left. That brochure was the “Perfect Sense Pamphlet” by Michael McCormick and I pray that the Holy Spirit will move this man’s heart to return to the Catholic Church through this encounter we had and the brochure that was intended just for him.

Our next outing will be at the Pasadena Indoor Flea Market on Saturday, August 9th. We plan on being there 11:00am-2:00pm. If you would like to observe how we evangelize, please come as we would love to share the joy of evangelizing with you so that there may be many more teams building in this area. Jesus commands us to evangelize and you have a willing and experienced team ready, at no cost to you, to show you the joy in spreading the love of Jesus and the Catholic faith to all those we encounter.
