The following story comes to us from team leader Lucy with our team in Boise, ID:
Jesus is still calling people to Himself. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort.
Two stylish young-adult women stopped. They were non-Catholic Christians. After hearing an explanation of the devotion and how Christ-centered it is, they each chose a Rosary and accepted the pamphlet on how to pray it. May the Lord bless them and draw them ever closer to His Heart!
A large, tall, 60-ish man stopped to ask directions to a restroom. He let us know he’s a non-Catholic Christian and is visiting here from the opposite corner of the country. Although we were finding the weather uncomfortably hot, he said it felt pleasant, since it didn’t have the humidity it would’ve had in his home state. He initially chose a black string Rosary, but then acted like he wanted to wear it around his neck. I suggested he try a much longer chain Rosary with dark-blue stones. He accepted. May the Lord keep him safe in his travels and may He draw the man to Himself through the Rosary prayers.
A group of people came to the table, dressed in colors for the local festival celebrating the nationality of historically Catholic people who had immigrated to the area, two centuries ago, in response to economic hardship and persecution against Catholicism in their homeland. Three out of the four visitors chose a Rosary.
A tall, thin, young-adult man with a nose ring, was also sporting shoulder-length blue hair and wearing headphones. He reacted to the evangelist’s offer of a Rosary by slowing down with a puzzled look on his face. Finally, he took the headphones off and once he understood what we were saying he approached, replying, “I’ll take one. It couldn’t hurt.” James responded, “And it may help a lot!” He was visiting from northern Europe to see family and friends and knew nothing about the Rosary, but said he believed in Jesus. He listened without remark as Chuck explained and extolled the Rosary and, before he went on his way, said, “You can try anything once.” Pray that he does “try” the Rosary and hears the Holy Spirit speaking to him in response.
Praised be Jesus Christ!
