This report comes from team leader Sharon with the St. Raphael parish team in Crystal, Minnesota:

On a slightly brisk fall morning, we set up our drive-thru prayer station in the driveway of St. Raphael Church and one by the sidewalk in front. We were joined today by a new evangelist, Brian, for the first time.

Our sidewalk station had two notable encounters. One was Reggie, a man in a wheelchair who lost a leg due to an infection. Despite his setback, he has a good attitude and spends his free time using a knitting loom to make hats, scarves, and afghans to give away to the less fortunate. Reggie asked that we pray for his friend who died recently. We also had Betty who asked us to pray for her health and the various situations of her three sons that need prayer. We learned that she is a fallen-away Catholic. When Betty stated she had studied many religions, Sharon offered her a Catechism, which Betty turned down. Phil directed the conversation to the Eucharist and Sharon gave Betty the brochure “Eucharist-True Worship”, which she did accept.

Our drive-thru station also had two notable encounters. One was C, a parishioner just leaving the adoration chapel, who had several difficulties and health issues needing prayer. We also had Laura, a 13-year-old, who is interested in finding a church to attend. Suzanne offered Laura a Bible when she learned Laura did not own one.

Let’s pray, in addition to the intentions they had, that Betty finds her way back to the Catholic Church and Laura can find a church home, perhaps with our own parish.
