The following story comes to us from team leader Nancy with our team in Gaithersburg, MD:
I am so grateful that God is sending more people to help in the vineyard of the Lord. Nelly, Bob and I went out last week to minister to people at the bus stop and Nelly met a young adult named Bill who needed prayer. She has joined our team and Nelly has a real compassion for people. Bill opened up to her right away and shared his alcohol addition with her. As I joined her in prayer, God was moving in his heart so powerfully, desperately wanting to be free as he was weeping. It was a beautiful interaction and he renounced the spirit of addition and recommitted his life to God. We connected him to the nearby parish where he can talk to the Pastor about following up. Please say a prayer for Bill that God would heal and strengthen him.

Two people that I had met, Abraham and William, a Muslim and Buddhist, both were so open to having a conversation about their faith. Abraham asked what my view of God was and I was able to share with him about how He is a loving Father in pursuit of his lost children to bring them back to himself through sending his Son and giving them eternal life. I believe that they don’t depict their God as a God of love. He then said that they don’t believe that Jesus is the Son of God but a very great prophet. At that point I gave him my witness to show him that Jesus is God and is a very personal God who works in people’s hearts and transforms them. May God use this witness to open up his mind to the good news of the gospel.

Tom, David and I went out last weekend and met Paul who has diabetes and just learned that he has cancer of the tongue. My heart went out to him as he was truly suffering and was going to be operated on the following Monday. We prayed over him and asked God for a miracle to heal and strengthen him. Please also pray for Abubakar, also a Muslim and who is a regular at the bus stop. For years he has been observing us and asking questions. I sensed that God wanted to do something special in his life that day so he actually gave his life to God as he prayed the surrender prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. May God continue to show us how to minister to him.

May God continue to protect our little chapter and Our Lady guide us.
