The following report comes to us from team leader Zach with our team in New River Valley, VA:

Our SPSE team has a yearly, self-imposed requirement to pass out rosaries on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. However, rain threatened the event all day. Thanks to Our Lady’s petition, God dispersed the rain and clouds about 20 minutes before we were meant to evangelize, revealing a beautiful sunset at Huckleberry Park. Rays of light directly illuminated our dual-sign setup.

Initially, the park was dead. It was 6:20pm on a Tuesday following a rainstorm. Despite the lack of pedestrians, we passed out three rosaries in the first 15 minutes. Then we noticed that some kids were playing football in the nearby fields, which inspired an idea: We would set up near the bottleneck connecting the practice fields to the larger park area. Not only did we meet discerning and fallen-away Catholics who wanted to chat with us, but we also encountered perhaps 100 parents picking up their children from practice. Of the people we spoke with, over 80% accepted a rosary, despite most of them being Protestant. It was surreal.
Equally surreal, both young kids and high schoolers wanted rosaries. Still in their football gear, young children gathered around the box filled with rosaries and picked out the ones they wanted while we chatted with parents. I think we gave out more rosaries and pamphlets today than any previous evangelization outing. It is clear that folk of all ages are thirsting for a deeper connection with Jesus, and we were so blessed to support that connection. I think we will return to that spot, especially during game days! Praise God! Our Lady of Victory, pray for us ❤

Praised be Jesus Christ!
