This report comes from team leader Mark with the Eastern Market SPSE team in Detroit, Michigan:

Four evangelists—Beth, Bill, Mark and Silvia—returned to the farmer’s market on a mild and sunny morning last Saturday. A group of Jehovah’s Witnesses were already stationed at our usual corner so we opted to set up at the opposite corner, same intersection. We were stationed immediately outside one of the large parking lots so many pedestrians had to walk by us on their way to and from the market. Beth and Bill focused on one sidewalk while Mark and Silvia focused on the adjacent corner.

Several people initially accepted the offer of a free rosary but quickly changed their mind. Bill offered a rosary to one young man in his twenties and the young man quickly asked for two. Sadly, two young women next to him immediately laughed at him and continued walking without him. Seeing the women leaving him, the young man abruptly changed his mind and ran to catch up with the two women. Bill briefly tried to continue the conversation but it was clear that the young man changed his mind. Pray for all three individuals, the young man and especially the two young women, that they will repent and turn to the Lord.

We prayed with a recently-engaged couple and prayed that God will bless their union. We talked about the Christian view of marriage as a holy covenant, not a mere formality or contract, and recommended that they read “Three to Get Married” by Fulton Sheen as a reminder to keep God at the center of their marriage. Altogether, we gave away about 40 rosaries, 40 Miraculous Medals, and prayed with 18 people over the course of 1.5 hours.

Praised be Jesus Christ!
