The following comes to us from team leader Lucy with our team in Boise, ID:

People are still discovering the Rosary. So, thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort. A woman raised overseas stopped to speak with Chuck and Nancy. She chose a string Rosary for herself. Then her perhaps 10-year-old son snagged the fancy chain one, which the mom had not seen. Although she seemed a bit disappointed about missing it, she didn’t ask to change her choice. She did, though, express curiosity about the Rosary, explaining she was raised in a national non-Catholic Christian church. She got sentimental as she spoke of the prayer beads she remembered seeing her grandfather wear on his wrist. She was surprised to hear that the Rosary is a meditation on Christ’s life, and didn’t know what the prayers associated with the prayer beads she remembers from her youth were about. However, she wasn’t forthcoming about whether or not she was currently attending church. Please pray that her mere curiosity and pleasant memories turn instead into an ardent desire for Christ, and that she and her son may be converted to Faith.

Our evangelist Nancy reported feeling greatly encouraged when a young-adult man practically shouted his “Yes” when asked if he would like a Rosary. He was Catholic and was accompanied by two other young-adult men, who seemed a bit more hesitant about the Rosaries. They let us know that they were non-Catholic Christians. After listening to my explanation of the devotion and how it helps one grow closer to Christ, they each also selected a Rosary and accepted its pamphlet on how to pray it. May the Lord draw all three of these men into His Heart and keep them there!

For the session, God granted us sunny weather that was not too cold. However, we saw almost no foot traffic. Still, the team gave away another 10-15 Rosaries and its pamphlet on how to pray it.

Please pray for us, asking God to send people with hearts prepared to recognize their need for Jesus and His Holy Catholic Church, and that abundant fruit for His Kingdom may come from our efforts. Even when visitors seem few, each person is so precious to God that He lovingly arranges these encounters. So thank you for your prayers and faithful support of this apostolate. In return, may God protect and richly bless you and all those you love.
