The following comes to us from team leader Lucy with our team in Boise, ID:
God is always seeking the lost. As we were setting up, Nancy struck up a conversation with a man walking two large white dogs. After some friendly talk (and dog-petting), he asked what we were doing. Chuck explained the Rosary, and the man said he’d like to try praying it. We found one in a color he liked, along with a pamphlet. He thanked us and said, “We need more prayer in the world.” Please pray that he grows closer to the Lord through the Rosary.
Later, members of a non-Catholic Christian church we’ve encountered before stopped by. This time, the conversations were cordial and focused on better ways to engage people beyond simply handing out tracts. One man, Mike, shared that he had been baptized Catholic but had fallen away. We’re grateful for their desire to spread the Gospel, and we ask prayers especially for Mike and others like him, that they may be drawn back to the fullness of the Catholic faith.
A young man in his late teens stopped to take a Rosary after confirming there was no charge. When asked about his faith, he said, “I’m not really anything.” We shared the Gospel with him and encouraged him to ask God to show Himself…an honest and powerful prayer. Please pray that the seed planted in him takes root.
A woman in her late 20s hurried over, excited to see the Rosaries. She shared a fond memory of helping her grandmother make hundreds of them. Though she had stopped going to church, she recently felt drawn to the quiet of a Catholic church again. Nancy encouraged her to return to Mass, even daily Mass, and she left grateful and open to going back.
Altogether, we gave away 12–15 Rosaries and pamphlets. Please pray for everyone we encountered, and for our continued outreach…that God sends those whose hearts are ready, and that much fruit comes from these efforts. It’s deeply encouraging to see people respond to God. Thank you for your prayers and support, and may God richly bless you and all those you love.
