The following story comes to us from team leader Nancy with our team in Gaithersburg, MD:

“Jesus is dead in the ground, and that supernatural stuff is for the birds” was the remark of an elderly gentleman, a former Catholic, whom I encountered after I offered him some good news. I then shared with him the miracles that God has done in my life and he responded “that’s good for you, but not for me”. I was walking with him to catch his bus and told him that Satan has blinded his mind to the truth and that Jesus is alive and loves him. The bus doors closed. I pray that God would use that encounter to change his heart. It opened my eyes to see what a grace it is that God has been so merciful to reveal His love to me and to never take the gift of faith for granted.

Sheila, Bob and I went out last Thursday and it was a beautiful, warm and sunny day. Everybody was out at the bus stop. It was non stop sharing the good news and encouraging everyone of God’s great love for them. Christina, whom we had prayed with before for her addiction, brought Theresa to us for us to pray with. She spoke Spanish but we were able to pray with her and gave her information about overcoming addictions. Sheila has such a motherly affection for people to make sure they have information about our church and inviting them to celebrate with us. I am so grateful for her commitment to this ministry.

Here’s something from Paula, who joined us for an outing and was a great asset to our team. “Thank you, Nancy, for including me in this evangelization event. I learned a lot from Tom and David. We had some nice encounters. There were some who remembered you and asked about you – Tina and Christina who you prayed with. I had a great conversation with a Muslim who wanted me to pray that he would go back to prayer. There were several who are Catholics and we encouraged them to get to Church for Easter. There was a young pregnant woman also open to prayer for her baby. There were more: prayers for a job, a place to live, for health, etc. I was encouraged that God is working in peoples’ lives and we can be a part of that.”
