Chicago, IL. Joy. In John 5:8-9, Jesus said to a man who had been ill for thirty-eight years, “Rise, take up your mat, and walk. That was over two thousand years ago, yet Our Lord is still healing today through His followers, like the evangelist in today’s story.

The following report comes to us from Mark and our Chicago North Shore team:

It started out as a really cold evening. We arrived at 4pm. I was meeting a friend at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s event called Light the Night to celebrate his late wife’s fight for a cure for cancer. He brought a friend that you see in the wheelchair. Red and yellow balloons are supporters. Those with white balloons are survivors or currently battling the disease. At the end of the two-mile walk we prayed for her right there on the spot.

I ended up giving her a special large blessed Miraculous Medal with the blue background and told her to wear it. And guess what? The next day her leg neuropathy pain of a 9 on a 10 scale completely disappeared! She saw her doctor a few days after that and her blood count shot up into the normal zone for the first time in almost 2 years!! The doctors are completely dumbfounded! We recently heard she got out of the wheelchair and went DANCING with her husband the following weekend!

Praised be Jesus Christ! God wills to heal (not always, because His plans are wiser than ours), so we should at least ask and see what He has in store. “Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.” (Jer. 17:14) Please keep her and all those battling cancer in your prayers.
