The following report comes to us from team leader Kristina with our team in Tacoma, WA:

Today our team met at Pioneer Park in Puyallup to evangelize while the Washington State Spring Fair was going on nearby. The general atmosphere was friendly and a few people stopped to talk. One was Catholic and appreciated our efforts. Many took Rosaries and pamphlets, carefully picking out what colors they preferred. We were thanked many times for being out there.

A couple people stood out from among the crowd on this beautiful Spring day. One was a police officer, and at first I feared he had come to make us leave since we had spread our rosaries out along a concrete bench at the public park. We smiled and asked him if he wanted a free rosary. He smiled back and said he did. He then proceeded to pick out a navy blue one that almost exactly matched his uniform. I read “Sheriff” across his badge. I explained to him that the rosary was a meditation on the life of Jesus and showed him a couple things in the pamphlet. He asked for prayers for his mother who has a tumor. We were able to pray then and there under the sky and in the midst of the Spring foliage just breaking forth. We saw him several times again as he patrolled the area and each time he smiled and waved.

As we were heading back to the car, my teenage daughter offered a rosary to a girl her age sitting alone near the library. She thanked us and said she loved Jesus so much. She asked for another Rosary for her grandmother and also wanted a Miraculous Medal for her. She welcomed our prayers for her grandma who she said was dying. She told us we’d never know how much this meant to her.

I am awed by God’s timing and His ability to turn our humbled efforts into something that really strikes at the heart of another. God bless you all and keep up the good work for the Lord!!

Praised be Jesus Christ!
