The following story comes to us from team leader Nancy with our team in Gaithersburg, MD:
David, Bill and I had a sense of expectation as we ventured out to the bus terminal experiencing Easter and Jubilee graces from this joyous Easter season. There was non-stop sharing of the gospel. We met a man named Merrick who was Presbyterian and was very surprised to see Catholics out evangelizing. I sensed that God just wanted to tell him how much he is loved by God and that God’s mark was on him because of his baptism. He was eager to hear more and wanted to check out our table filled with beautiful pamphlets and sacramentals from SPSE. As I sensed he was not really attending his church, he asked for the Catholic churches in the area and wanted to know the times of the Masses. People just need a friendly invite. I pray that he will come and see.
Near Merrick was a Muslim man named Abraham who overheard our conversation. I shared with him about the creation story and the fall. He was very much interested at which time his bus came. I pray he read the information given to him and that God would reveal His personal love to him. David and I prayed with a woman who was asking for prayer about a job situation. She was very grateful that we were there, and, as I prayed for Our Lady’s intercession, she was very moved and teared up as she was not Catholic. I could sense Our Lady’s presence ministering to her. David, Bill and I prayed for a sad situation of an elderly man who was asking for prayers for his niece’s children who were raped. David and Bill both prayed a beautiful prayer of restoration for them that God would restore their childlike innocence and bring deep healing to their mind, body and spirit. I pray this in Jesus’s mighty name. It is such a privilege to connect with people to reinforce God’s love to those burdened by so much suffering. People need to be comforted. May God continue to bless and protect our little chapter and Our Lady guide us.
Praised be Jesus Christ!
