The following is a continuation of yesterday’s story and comes to us from team leader Lucy with our team in Boise, ID:

A couple from another state eagerly stopped so the man, who “used to be Catholic”, could get a Rosary. He remembered how important the devotion had been to his grandmother. So, we refreshed his memory about how the meditations help you grow closer to Jesus. When asked what parish they attend while in town, they were evasive and then named a non-Catholic Christian megachurch back home as their “home parish”. It turned out they’d be in town for another few weeks, so I provided them with a map to area parishes and invited them to get reconnected. Pray they make time to seek the very Real Presence of Christ in the Mass again.

A 50- or 60-something man overheard us offering Rosaries to others and approached us. He “used to be Catholic” but he and his siblings had quit practicing their religion as they became adults. However, our visitor had just spent a couple of days with his brother, who is now returning to the Faith, though he himself is content to “experience God in nature while camping.” He chose a Rosary for his brother, knowing that it would make him happy. Chuck challenged him to pray it once himself before he gave it to him. Pray that the Catholic brother will be able to influence this man and that he, too, may return to the Sacraments.

A young-adult couple came to the table, led by the woman who is Catholic. He, smiling and shrugging, declined to choose a Rosary. But she, with a mischievous grin of her own, told us that she was “working on him.” The evangelist suggested he take a Rosary because God is not an idea but a Person Who is worth getting to know. Just as this couple got to know each other through conversation and sharing time together, our visitor would only figure out this God thing if he spent one-on-one time with God in prayer. Still smiling and reluctant, but outnumbered by his girlfriend and two evangelists, he took a Rosary. Pray that the girlfriend and the Holy Spirit will lead the man to faith.

A very tall man broke away from his group to come to the table. He had memories of his grandmother praying the Rosary. His mother believed in Jesus but didn’t have time for church. It sounded like our visitor now attends a non-Catholic Christian church, but has long been curious about the Rosary that his grandmother had been so devoted to. We explained the prayer and started into the fruits of praying the Rosary, but he was in a hurry to catch up with his friends and left. Pray, along with Our Lady, that his grandmother’s devotion becomes his as well.

Please pray for us again today. Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes from today’s efforts.

The Rosary appeals to Catholics, used-to-be Catholics, and non-Catholics. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate!!! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
