The following comes to us from team leader Dave with our St. Peter parish team in Beaufort, SC:
Here at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Beaufort, we’re charged with being a “Light for Beaufort” by our pastor, Fr. Andrew. Many in our community face either spiritual or physical hunger (or both). We believe Jesus is calling our parish to be a beacon of hope and light in response. This is our parish’s initiative…to bear more fruit by serving those in need and sharing the Gospel. Since Nov. 2017, we’ve committed to tithing 10% of our weekend offertory to support local charities—carefully chosen by our Service Committee—and to spread Christ’s message through creative faith-based ads in local newspapers and online platforms. We’ve also taken part in public intercessory prayer. Here is a wonderful example of this bearing fruit.
Over the last several weeks, St. Paul Street Evangelization’s Beaufort chapter has participated in being a “Light for Beaufort.” We prayed in public at two First Friday events, at the Port Royal Farmers’ Market and at Beaufort’s Memorial Day Parade. God is blessing us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Through public intercessory prayer, miracles are happening. Tim prayed for an individual’s son who had been disqualified for a transplant. Two weeks later, the person approached Tim again thanking him for his prayer, and letting him know that their son was miraculously approved for the transplant list! Thank God!
Praised be Jesus Christ!
