The following story comes to us from team leader Nancy with our team in Gaithersburg, MD:

As we were setting up our table, a young adult named Anthony approached us and said “I have been waiting for you”. Because we give out such beautiful Miraculous Medals, I feel Our Lady’s presence there drawing people to us. He said, “I gave away my medal to someone else, and I have been missing mine.” I work with some beautiful ladies who exhibit a motherly presence to the people there also – Sheila and Amparo. They are always busy seeking where the Holy Spirit is leading them to share the gospel or to connect them to a parish. Amparo is very much needed to connect with the Spanish population there and to hook them up with the sacraments. Sheila has a great gift of starting a conversation with new people and getting to know them. So many people just need to be listened to. That was the case with a man I met named Robert. He shared with me that he and his wife were separated. God was definitely working in his heart, as he knew he was the problem and was trying to amend his ways to get back with her. He had been away from the Catholic church and I gave him information about Confession and prayed and encouraged him to return. He felt hopeful and wanted to recommit his life to God. May God give him courage to do so.

I also met an older woman called Dee. I have seen her many times there at the bus stop, but we never really connected as she is always with the noisy group at the end of the terminal. But I sensed God wanted me to talk with her. I introduced myself to her and asked her if she was ever baptized and she said no. I could also sense a real hunger in her for change. She opened up to me that she has been struggling with health problems. I prayed with her and invited her to come to Mass with me this weekend, which is the Feast of Pentecost. She said yes! I believe God is going to do a great work in her life and I pray it will be life changing for her and her family. May God continue to bless and protect our little chapter and Our Lady guide us. Come Holy Spirit!

Praised be Jesus Christ!
