This report comes to us from team leader Darren with our Ithaca-Immaculate Conception parish team in NY:
On May 31st and June 1st, our street evangelization team was blessed to be at the Ithaca Festival for another year. This time, we had about a dozen parishioners from Immaculate Conception sign up to evangelize at our table for the weekend — thanks be to God for this explosion of interest in our apostolate!
The weather on May 31st was quite something to contend with, with rain, wind, and chill that forced other booths to close up early. Still, we were glad to be present at the festival; a number of great conversations wouldn’t have happened otherwise! June 1st was a much more beautiful day, with much more foot traffic at our table.
Please pray for the following intentions that were entrusted to us:
Anonymous: “Dear Lord, please let my car pass inspection so I can continue to help the community.”
Anonymous: “Please pray for Dan. He is homeless in Buffalo. I met him and gave him food. Pray for a full belly and warm body.”
Anonymous: “Can you please pray for my Dad?”
As well, please pray for these intentions from our street evangelists based on their encounters:
For Morgan and Red, a young couple who came to our table full of joy! Pray that their joy in the Lord continues and grows.
For Jupiter, who touched my heart. She is graduating from high school in a few weeks and going to college to become a teacher. She came to our table and was drawn to the Rosaries. I asked her if she was Catholic and she said no, her mother was. I asked if she was baptized and she said no, because her parents are same-sex attracted women. I assured her that God loves her and that she can be baptized. And that God loves her ‘parents’ too. She took a rosary and I gave her a pamphlet that teaches her how to pray the rosary. I asked if she wanted to take rosaries to her mother and her friend, she hesitated then declined. Please pray for this young girl and her ‘parents’ that the Holy Spirit and Mother Mary will lead them to find Jesus in their hearts.
For Ralph, an atheist who has taken a great interest in Christianity over the past six years. Pray that he comes to the fullness of the truth in the Catholic faith as he continues on this exploration.
For the many children who came and visited our table for a crafts activity, that they may come to a relationship with Jesus Christ, especially in the Eucharist, and inspire faith in their parents and families as a result.
Praised be Jesus Christ!
